Happy Independence Day, America! While we all wait in great anticipation for dusk to fall and the fireworks to begin, here’s a gallery that demonstrates just how much art can imitate life. All of these sea creatures resemble colorful exploding fireworks in their own way, although much of their display meant to intimidate enemies rather than entertain people. No matter what the purpose of their unusual appendages, it is just as much fun to observe these creatures bursting onto an underwater scene as it is to watch fireworks bursting in the sky.
