The Historic Diving of Grenada

Known as the “Island of Spice” for its large global exports of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and mace, to name a few, Grenada is also renown for holding purportedly one of the world’s best beaches, and with good beaches usually comes good diving. Grenada doesn’t disappoint, as it holds the largest shipwreck in the Caribbean among the 15 found in its waters. Most of the dive sites surrounding Grenada are just a short 15-20 minute boat ride from the island, and thriving coral reefs and abundant marine life await at any of the sites you choose. And just to up the ante, Grenada is home to an underwater sculpture park, created by Jason deCaires Taylor, located within a Marine Protected Area where you can expect to see seahorses, mantas, and more. If the Caribbean is on your bucket list for dive sites, don’t miss the lovely Grenada! Check out this diver’s footage from a dive on the wreckage of The Veronica.
