Bonaire’s Wounded Warrior Project Event a Success

Leisure Pro Bonaire 3LeisurePro recently had the privilege to serve as one of the sponsor’s for Bonaire’s 8th annual dive event for the Wounded Warrior Project, and we just wanted to share with you some photos and a recap of what seemed to be a week of long-lasting friendships made and a newfound love for diving among our nation’s servicemen who have suffered great injuries protecting our country.

The soldiers went about the business of getting in the pool to begin their PADI Open Water certifications shortly after landing in Bonaire, and as the week progressed, everyone’s spirits remained high as they learned the intricacies of diving and shared experiences about their deployment with each other. More than one Wounded Warrior relayed their praise and gratitude for the program and the positive changes it has made for themselves and their families, with one even going so far as to say, “Learning to SCUBA dive saved my life.”

We are proud to have been able to be a part of such a wonderful event for people who have made the ultimate sacrifices for the citizens of the United States and beyond. If you would like to learn more about the Wounded Warrior Project, please visit their site for details. Everyone deserves a chance at a new life, and the Wounded Warrior Project is a shining example of the good that can happen when people truly care.
