If you love reality television and chances are if you’re reading this on Aquaviews, you love scuba diving too, ‘The Ultimate Diver Challenge‘ is the show you should be tuning into this December.
The show shot in Cozumel, one of the best rated diving destinations the world over, will show case 28 scuba divers battling it out in team challenges designed to test their scuba knowledge and skills including – buoyancy, navigation, safety, search, stress and rescue skills, to earn the title of the “Ultimate Diver”. Although the tasks and obstacles the divers face in the challenges require the scuba skills that are thought to every diver in their scuba training, when put to the test in a competitive environment, it’s not as easy as it sounds. According to the show’s official website:
Experienced divers become snagged and entangled, have to deal with “black out” conditions, and struggle to remain cool while lost underwater, running short of air as they battle one another while fighting currents and overcoming the obstacles that are unique to each of the challenges. Teams are not prepared, equipment fails, and teams struggle to earn the title. Fatigue, dehydration, nitrogen narcosis and safety violations eliminate divers at any one moment. – www. ultimatediverchallenge.com
By the looks of it from the trailers, they couldn’t have chosen a better location to shoot than the crystal clear waters of Cozumel, Mexico and I’m pretty sure it’ll have divers hooked, even if only, to watch the brilliance of the underwater videography and the fact that it’s shot in Hi-definition. The show will air starting once weekly for a series of 26 weeks, starting December 31 at 7:30 a.m. (EST) on VERSUS TV. Here’s a look at their trailer and what to expect….

I've watched the first 2 episodes and I'm hooked! I can't wait to see how the rest of the divers handle the course.
I watched struggled to watch 5 shows, but only for review purposes. While the idea for this show has potential the execution makes this one a flop.
