School is out, summer is a week away from being officially here, and the biggest question of the summer reigns supreme: What will I do with the kids this summer? Well, if you’re a SCUBA diver, introducing your little guy or gal should be a no-brainer, but you don’t have to be an avid diver for your kids to be excited about diving. There are many training camps held for kids throughout the summer, so if you’ve got a local dive shop, check to see what they may have planned. They always say to start kids at something when they’re young, and your kid only has to be 8 years old to get started in a rich and rewarding lifetime of SCUBA! Here’s a great example of just such a program:

my older brother was certified at 10 (he’s 16 now), and me at 10 as well. It may not seem like much, but I’m proud to be a diver at 13 !
My kids can’t wait… my daughter needs to get her asthma under control, my son needs to turn 10… but they’ll both get there, I’m sure!

two of my kids are advanced certified and I had the pleasure of certifying them.
My 11 year old will be a certified diver this Saturday.
My 16 yr old certified two weekends ago, my 13 just starts her cert next week, and my 7 y/o will start the P.A.D.I. seal team in Oct, until then he is a snorkeling machine! He will certify in 2yrs 4 mos and 3 days!
3 of my six children are scuba divers, three to go! : )
My son was certified at 14. My daughter was certified at 12. Both already have their advanced qual and will have their rescue diver this summer.
