The idea is to learn about the day to day routine of a dive shop first hand. One this is completed the dive shop or other dive shops can hire you on a payroll to accompany their customers and lead dive groups on dives.
To take this one step further you can certify as a Scuba instructor with a recognized Scuba certification agency such as PADI, NAUI and SSI to start teaching diving at local dive shops or even open your own. Instructor level jobs however involve a lot more responsibility teaching theory as well as training newbies for their safety in confined water and open water. All this must be done according to agency regulations and procedures.
Once you do earn your instructor or dive master “C” cards (certification cards), there are several fun options for work like…
Resorts: Dive resorts or even some high end resorts near the sea offer diving as a recreational sport or leisure activity. They hire Instructors to offer introductory courses to resort guest or dive resorts that have dive packages hire divemasters to conduct these dives for certified divers. The best part of this job is it feels like you’re on permanent vacation as most of these resorts are in warm tropical places.

Cruise Ships: Cruise liners tend to hire scuba instructors rather than dive masters as they can teach short introduction to scuba diving courses to guest onboard at different locations.
Liveaboards: These are diving only boats which go to dive site to dive site and have divers living on board for a few days at a time. The diving is intense, sometimes 4-5 dives a day but the locations are stunning and the best dive spots in the world.
